it is that time of year, where that pungent smell of the king of fruits will linger in the many streets, cafes or homes...
but before we get there, there is the flowering process... and boy are they flowering now...
my dad planted a tree in our backyard... it is now more than 10 years and since, it has but flowered only once... this time round, the buds seem to have increased... the buds look like olives...
the flowers look like lilies... they are edible apparently... when they flower, people collect them to sell... i have not tasted it, so hopefully my own ORGANIC durian flowers are nice if they fall in abundance...
OK, here is the kicker... i have not eaten durians in more than 10 years... hahhaa... i don't know why... and frankly speaking, i do not really miss eating durians...
but that hasn't stop me from participating in the yearly rictual that is... hunting them durians... hahahha
more pictures to follow, if any of these flowers bear fruit...

after the rain... here comes the sun...
well... it happened... the rain dissipated and in its place, those hot scorching days...
at dawn, the sun just picked up from where it left off... heat from the day before...
even at 5.00 p.m. after work, walking to your ride feels like being in a sauna... and not the good kind...
no matter where you turn, the sun will shine so brightly on you... just remember to put on sun block... if not... you will become...
like this... hahaha...

文仔私防菜之 pasta raemondo...
again... i am showing off my culinary expertise... hahahaha
today is my version of the pasta... with stuff that i like...
you'll need the following ingredients... please remember... my intent here is one portion... if you have more people, maybe just double or triple it... OK??
2 small tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1 small onion
2 stalks of celery
a cup of dried spiral pasta
a cup of tomato sauce (pasta sauce)
some satay meat (leftovers)
some satay sauce
oil
fried onions/dried jerky for decorations...
prepare boiling water...
put the pasta in and boil till al-dante...
while waiting, slice the vegetables and the onion/garlic...
now... put the onion and garlic into a pan which has been heated with some oil...
then add in the celery and beef...
stir, then add in the tomato sauce...
stir a little, then add in the satay sauce...
stir... then add in the pasta...
stir until the pasta is coated and cooked through...
serve by sprinkling some fried onions and meat jerky on it... crack some black pepper if you want... and you can put some parmesan cheese if you like...
enjoy...
