i signed up for the HP-Streamyx deal in malaysia whereby you upgrade to a 1MBPS connection and pay extra to get a HP computer with Intel Core-2-Duo chip etc... after a while of waiting, the stuff was delivered to me... but the delivery process sucks...
drivers don't know the way
the driver that delivered the stuff to me did not know how to get to my place... initially i think he wanted me to go to meet him in the town area and pick up my things from there... i was going to foolishly do that when i remembered that if i did that, what if along the way home the stuff was damaged... then i could not claim damage etc... or that it has already been damaged and because the chain of possession changed, i would be left to hang???
so i called their manager and after some explanation, he agreed to get the person to bring the stuff to me BUT i had to fetch them to my house... i did...
delivered in some lousy lorry
my PC was delivered via some lorry... and from the looks of it, it was in the lorry from its port of origin, driven across the state to where i reside... lucky no pixel is dead on the LCD monitor...
"u call balik... saya tidak ada kredit"
that was the first thing i heard when i answered my phone... granted i know who he was, but i could just as well don't know... and why do i need to call back? afterall they were the delivery persons and they should be the ones calling me instead of me calling back...
i voiced this with their manager... all he could do was to say SORRY...
no set-up helpi was under the impression that some technician will come round to my place to help set up the new pc... none was present yesterday... i was able to put them all together, but i could as well be a techno-idiot with no understanding of how to put the things together... and what about the internet connection? i sure as hell don't know how to set that up (if i were a techno-idiot)...
out of pocket expense
so basically, this is out of my own pocket, the expenses incurred... like calling the driver and the manager... and driving to lead them to my place... and HP charged me RM170 for delivery... if that were the case then what delivery were they charging? i practically had to pick the stuff up myself...
complained to HP
i have lodged a formal complain to HP on their website... hopefully i will get a reply from them... if you want to buy HP, then please consider... maybe it is just this leg of the service that is a bit screwed up...
