from HP with apology...

a while back i posted my experience with how the delivery process from HP was anything but pleasant... i wrote HP on its website and complained the whole ordeal...

the delivery arm of HP called from its office in KL after my complaint... the lady let me air out my grievances, i guess much to their chagrin... i mean i was complaining about how the delivery person wanted me to call back because he was out of credit... and subsequently wanting me to meet them in town etc...

some weeks have passed by... then i got a call from their manager in the sarawak region... he was apologetic... he explained that he had instructed his drivers/delivery persons to not do what that particular person had done... and he went on to say he had let that person go... i feel a bit bad but then again, it was my right as a consumer which got violated...

then he asked to make an appointment next week to take me out for an apologetic meal... truth be told, i don't really care much about that meal... i guess i would have been satisfied with a gift basket and an apology letter or something... but i'll see what the meal holds... i'll update you guys later...

i think my stand is... i was told that the thing would be delivered to my doorsteps so i am in the right to ask the person to come over... secondly, the delivery person's job is to deliver the package to my place, so if he did not know of the address then he should ask... the delivery person should have never ask the client to call back due to him running out of credit... i have already paid for delivery, so all of this should not have come to pass... but it did...

the whole thing makes HP look bad... i guess that is why this is happening, to try to patch things up... i'm sure lots of people here in sarawak got the same raw end of the deal but they are either not too bothered with it to complain or just don't know better...

i'm telling you, there is a correct way to do things and definitely this was not... while the company that i am dealing with is HP (an international company where it has experience in handling such issues), domestic companies should not try to rip off the consumers...

buy smart, exercise your rights when you can and don't be bullied...
